Bedford Drive Association (BDA)
You may ask yourself what is the B.D.A?
The B.D.A is a registered charity which is made up of a small group of parents, grandparents and carers, who get together during term time to help arrange fundraising ideas with members of school staff. Everyone who has a child at school is automatically a member and can come to meetings to help decide how we can help raise money for school and our children.
You may have recently been to our schools Christmas Fair or had a drink, cake or biscuit at the Christmas plays? The B.D.A helped organised this and have managed to raise a good amount over the years.
All money raised goes to our children in the school one way or another. Recently we have helped purchase some new playground equipment (like bats and balls, hoola hoops, footballs), spare helmets for the bike it days, attendance treats, ICT equipment, leaving gifts for year 6 and help reduce the cost of day trips.
BDA meetings are very informal and are normally held just after we drop our children off in the morning, where we enjoy tea, coffee and biscuits which are always an essential start to meetings. Don't worry if you can't come to all meetings as we don't expect this.
If you feel you may be able to help in any way, small or large, from new ideas to helping arrange school fairs then please keep an eye out for the next meeting in schools newsletters or give your name to your child's class teacher, the school office, or speak to us at our next fundraising event.
We look forward to seeing some new faces!
